UFC 57, Couture v. Liddell. Awesome story, awesome fight. Couture v. Sylvia is right up there. Cung Le v. Frank Shamrock was great, as was BJ Penn v. Sean Sherk. Then again there's something to be said for the classics, as if you go back to the original shows and watch Royce Gracie submit huge behemoths like Kimo, it's one hell of a spectacle. Bonner v. Griffin from the first TUF deserves a nod, that shit was a war. If you've never seen Clay Guida v. Roger Huerta from the last Ultimate Fight Night, go out of your way to see a replay (Spike will show it again sooner or later). If you ever want to see one fighter COMPLETELY own another fighter, watch either the first or second Rich Franklin v. Anderson Silva fight. Franklin may be the second best guy in UFC in his weight class, but Silva is so far above him as the #1 guy that Franklin literally seems to be throwing punches at him in Matrix-time slow-mo'. If you're in it for blood, watch Penn v. Stevenson, or Lytle v. Koscheck from the last show, or Escovedo v. Faber. Speaking of Faber, his 25 minute battle with Jens Pulver is a fucking classic. I've got the replay in HD on my DVR and I may never delete it, unless they release it on a Blu Ray DVD.

Takayama vs. Fujita was cool too. All early Sakuraba in PRIDE is very important historically and very entertaining. If you're not familiar with the ground game, this will be a good introduction. Also he does flying stomps and cartwheels. Sakuraba was one of the first and few guys to dominate on the ground without a jiu jitsu or extensive collegiate wrestling background, he was a pro wrestler. If you want to see some completely ridiculous shit, Royce Gracie vs Akebono, Keith Hacnkey vs. Emmanuel Yarborough, Minowaman vs Giant Silva. Nick Diaz vs Takanori Gomi was great. Especially 'cause the doctors said Nick was high during the fight and suspended him after he tested positive for marijuana and they called the fight a no decision. The Undertaker stole the finish to his wrestlemania match where he just won the title from this fight.

Rampage vs. Wanderlei Silva in PRIDE was pretty vicious.
PRIDE had a ton of brutal, but entertaining fights now that I think about it.

Rampage vs. Wanderlei I and II from PRIDE comes to mind. Fedor vs. Nogeira is always fun.
PRIDE kicks ass.

Indeed. PRIDE should've never died.

Indeed. PRIDE should've never died. I have kinda mixed feelings about Pride. I watched it when it first started but was always more of a UFC guy even in the " dark age." Atleast with Pride dead we are finally getting to see some marquee type matches.
