Honestly, I don't want to argue with you anymore. I am over that. I am staying in my section of the board responding to a post with what I know. Since you asked me to stay out of the WO boards, I have. You're acting really odd lately, though.
Just so you're aware, and you can ask your lawyer this too, it is a federal crime to modify any legal document in which you and anyone else have agreed to prior to the change. To implement any amendments or any modifications to your Terms of Service, you must get all person(s) to initial or sign and date (or electronically agree such as "click here if you have read and agree to the modified Terms of Service." You may under no circumstance disregard a legally binding document just because someone pissed you off and you don't want to prorate their subscription price after cancellation. You may cancel everyone's sub and get them to agree to the changes, but in that case you MUST honor the previous agreement. Which means, prorating everyone that refuses to sign the new Term of Service.
However, you can't arbitrarily modify a legal document under any circumstances without the written consent of the person(s) that agreed to the original. You also can't add an amendment saying you can. lol It's a law.
Also, just so you know, this is a crime. He can press criminal charges if you do not follow the agreed upon Terms of Service to a tee. A lot of shady business men have been sent to prison for crimes like this. Seriously. It's fraud. Given the circumstances, you'd probably just be looking at a big fat fine. Like thousands upon thousands of dollars. How much is you pride really worth?
Like I said, if you think I am mistaken or lying, then keep doing what you're doing. I just hope for your sake no slighted person takes action because you're too proud to give them their 10(or whatever) dollars back.
How much do you think advertisers are willing to offer for businesses with one of the owners under criminal investigation? You probably think this is really stupid, but I assure you, you're playing with fire.
Also, you should know that you can't falsely advertise under any circumstance either(I believe). I am 99% sure about that one but I would have to ask my family's attorney to find out for sure.
Anyway, I would prorate the guy before you end up pissing off the wrong person. Or don't.
1. Which FEDERAL LAW has been broken?
2. He didn't ask if he could get a refund. He asked if he was ENTITLED to a refund. I said no. In fact, after sending that e-mail, he sent a second email specifically saying he WAS NOT ASKING FOR A REFUND.
3. If a FEDERAL LAW was broken by me not refunding his money, what is he going to file suit for? Nine dollars?
