Some of my friends loved it. It was also canceled quick and didn't have the kind of critical acclaim Milch's Deadwood had going for it. I've never seen it... has anyone here?

I've never even heard of this show.
Which is odd because I live in Cincinnati.

I watched the whole thing, it was ok. It's not for everybody. A lot of strangeness for the sake of strangeness, and one of the cast members is maybe the worst actor I've ever seen.
But it could be very funny and interesting at times. Plus a whole ton of people from Deadwood were in it, which is nice.

If you watch most HBO drama you'll notice they used the same casting agency for a lot of the shows so they show up on a lot of the same shows.

BTW this show was fucking horrid. Thats why it got cancelled before it's first season was up. You know how had it is to get a premium cable channel to stop showing a show when they have already paid for and filmed it? lol

I'm almost positive that they showed the entire season. And then they cancelled it (or announced they weren't renewing, whatever) like a day after the final episode aired.
At least, I was downloading a new episode each week. It had to get on the internet somehow.

what would have made this show better is if "John" had actually been Godzilla. and what's up with that cincinatti chili?? there's nutmeg or cinnamon in that shit.

I had some veg ravioli about a year ago that had nutmeg in it... fucking retched. Why would anyone want to ruin a perfect bowl of chili with that shite?

I only watched the pilot, but the Hollywood reporter did a big piece on how John in Cinci was such a failure. Maybe the shows were offered online and someone snatched them for there.
