He'll keep it until Sunday. And Batista will beat him like a slave.

He keeps it til SummerSlam and loses it to Batista via shenanigans from Orton => rEvolution

I say Punk retains and turns Heel cause after what happened most of the shows him gettin booed and such. I hope CM Punk retains cause he is drawing from what I am seeing. Unlike what triple H was doing. The RAW numbers have been consistent.

I would say the RAW numbers are up more so because of The Draft changes and the appeal of what's been going is exciting and fresh, not because Punk is champ. Last I heard, punks segments and matches were dropping in the segment by segment ratings. However, that could have just been matches or segments and not both. I think there is interest in who is going to take the belt off of punk and not interest in seeing punk retain.

I'm betting Survivor Series. You have to remember that the WWE gave Punk the belt to clean up the 'roids image they have, therefore they need to establish him for a sometime at least to clear the air with the media/wankers.

I don't this is true in slightest bit. I haven't heard of Meltzer or Alvarez reporting this, and the steroid scandal happened over a year ago and they are just now putting the title on Punk? I think it was more or less, they needed to get a belt on RAW and Punk needed to cash in the MITB after he won it when he wasn't even supposed to(Jeff Hardy got suspended and was supposed to win). The only thing about being clean for punk is he wont ever get suspended or have a steroid related injuries as a result of drug use, but anything other than that is just a stretch propagated by people that are either punk fans or very naive.

Good points. But I think that they still have this in the back of their mind. It may have been a year ago, but that fucking Benoit doctor is still gonna pop up in the news every now and again and Angle don't look so hot, in case you haven't noticed, he may be the next on the list. So if the worse happens or the media take another look at whats happening in Wrestling-land, it won't hurt to see a "Straight Edge" guy with the belt.....then they'll have to google what straight edge is.

It's going to hurt the business, but other than that it wouldn't hurt anything... unless profits and ratings matter to them. lol

Well that would make two champions they have that can't draw for shit. Punk was a good ratings spike for them as well as the image upgrade i've mentioned and he's marketable to the youngsters, personally I think he'll be making crazy money for them in a year or two, and this run will only help that [if its succesfull] In the end, who they push and who makes a champion is going to relate less and less to you and I and more to the tastes of the kids that are tweens now....fuckin hell theres a thought to make you polish off a bottle of JB and blowjob your pistol!!! This should be a separate thread<<<<!! Survivor series....any further is lunacy

Punk did not pop the rating at all, it was the title change and the intrigue if he was going to lose it by the end of the first show. The ratings have steadily dropped since he won the title 2 weeks ago.
Not sure what the JB and blow job my pistol means... I have a spinal fracture and I'm not that depressed. I also don't drink anymore. Either way, that's a no go. I am getting the impression you're a Punk fan, which is all well and good, and to say Triple H hasn't been an utter failure would be insane, but Punk is by no means a success but he hasn't been a failure yet. You have to be given the chance to be a failure. He won't be given that chance. I'd be amazed if he held the title passed summerslam. I can see them letting Punk keep the title via DQ from a Kane interference or even a no contest to swerve everyone who knows Punk isn't staying champion, but he's not going to beat Batista and he's not going to go over anyone he would main event against at SUMMERSLAM. Unless they plan on having Snitsky or Paul Birchill fight for the title at SumSlam. I can tell by the pops CM Punk gets that the fans do not buy him as champion. And don't let the spike in ratings(which started at the draft show) fool you. Like I said earlier, the show loses viewers whenever Punk seems to be involved in anything. That's why Cena/JBL was the final Angle to end the go home show this week.
Let's not forget, right now a lot of the steroid heat has been taken off of wrestling and is being focused more so on pro sports, which is always going to get more media coverage. I would bet money Batista will not lose(get pinned or submit) at the bash and I would also bet money that come MondayNight RAW after Summerslam, Punk will no longer be champion, if not sooner.

Punk did not pop the rating at all. Sorry Rob, hate to disagree, but the facts say otherwise. *** The quarter hour rating for the CM Punk vs. Kane match on RAW this past Monday was a 3.59, making it the highest rated segment of the entire show other than the overrun. The quarter hours right before and after the CM Punk match did 3.13 ratings, meaning the Punk match caused a spike in viewers watching. (PWI)
